Beam Studios provide CNC routing and laser engraving services to the creative industry. We were setup to offer a straightforward and efficient service to those working on on a wide range of projects . We work closely with Architects, Designers , Artists and Set builders
Beam was setup by a set designer with a background in furniture and interiors. Realising the need for an efficient service with fast turnaround times, we cater for designers who have to deal with demanding clients and sometimes ridiculous time frames.
We’re prepared to work late and start insanely early, even weekend and over night turnarounds are possible. Frustration with long lead times is the reason we started.
We offer a CAD service if needed and can even help you with design and fabrication.
MATERIAL
We can cut a wide range of materials including MDF, plywood, melamine and veneered face boards, soft and hardwoods, acrylic, carving foam, carving rubbers and aluminium composite boards such as dibond. We can also cut solid brass and aluminium.
ARTWORK
Artwork needs to be supplied in either DWG, DXF or as an .ai file. If you only have a sketch or graphic we also offer a drawing service. Remember to colour code and annotate your drawing as well as splitting into layers if its particularly detailed.
MACHINERY
Our largest bed is an American made Thermwood with a maximum cutting bed size of 3050 x 1550mm (10ft x 5ft) We can machine both sides of the board if needed. The smallest bit we use is a 3mm and can get specialist cutters in for your job next day.
